Jinping brings CharFac his expertise on imaging and surface force measurements with Atomic Force Microscopy.  His research interests are colloid and surface science, biomaterials at the interfaces, and nanotribology of soft-condensed matter.  His Ph.D. work focused on the "study of surfactant nanostructures at the solid/liquid interface".  His postdoctoral research with Dr. Greg Haugstad at Charfac, and current research involve the study of nanotribology behavior of soft contact lens (with Ciba Vision Co.), phase segregation of biomedical coatings (with Boston Scientific Co.), and structural and electrostatic complexity of an organic thin film semiconductor (with CEMS).  He is also an expert on AFM imaging in liquid, surface modification with chlorosilane and thiol, and AFM tip functionalization.  He is currently in charge of the SPM/AFM, FTIR and Ellipsometer at CharFac.
